Fitness at Sprint: A Team that Sweats Together…

12 Nov 2019 | Cole Dziatkewich

The #Sprintfam are ramping up our health and fitness for summer and we are all going to sweat it out at the gym together.  F45 look out, we are coming for you!  Naomi, Peta and Hannah have been consistently hitting the HIIT studio for the last few months, but I have now signed up as of Tuesday too.  The accountability chart is on the wall and boxes are being ticked daily.  We are all working out together and we have made a pact about staying focused and keeping each other on track.  The pink work-out gear and swimwear is an added motivation – Sydney summer is on its way.

I never used to be a morning person until I started bringing health and fitness into my life.  I was a night owl, always up late and sleeping till the last moment possible – I also recall feeling sluggish and slow because of it.  It’s been 10 years since I first started going to the gym in the morning, and I cannot imagine ever living any other way. Getting that blood pumping and breathe puffing first thing in the morning is the best way to start the day!

Not only is working out good for our personal health and fitness, but it also gets us buzzed and psyched up for our day at SprintHQ.  Staying focused and driven is the key to success at Sprint, and working out regularly helps us stay at the top of the recruitment industry.  As anyone in recruitment knows (whether you are the director, recruiter or supporting a team), the job is fast paced with ups and downs and multiple changes on a daily basis.

From Erskineville, Clovelly, Balmain and across the harbour to Manly we are all up and att’em before the sun is.  Doing something as a team has brought us closer together, and gives us something to bond over and share. We all push each other to reach our professional goals, personal goals and now fitness goals too – we’re #sprintstrong.

Here are six amazing benefits to an early morning sweat-sesh that we know you will benefit from too:

☆ Working out first thing in the morning is an excellent way to establish a routine. Once an exercise routine is established, you’ll be a lot less likely to skip the gym.

☆ More energy. Morning workouts are one of the best ways to feel energised and prepared for your day. In fact, a morning workout might even give you more energy than a cup of coffee!

☆ Better mood. Breaking an early morning sweat will reward you with a rush of endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine – feel-good chemicals that will boost your mood and help zap stress.

☆ Improved sleep. Exercise, in general, is known to promote better sleeping habits.

☆ Lower blood pressure. Regular exercise is fantastic for helping to prevent hypertension.

☆ Less stress. Breaking a sweat before work will lower your body’s cortisol levels (stress hormones).

So get up and get out, try it for yourself or push your team join!
