I think this role is extremely underrated in business today…
“Employee Experience”
Most see it as a nice to have because it’s not a revenue-generating role. However, I commend the businesses that are hiring these positions and seeing the true value that they bring – because not retaining your employees is going to cost you far more in the long run.
I take it back to a question I always ask clients when hiring –
“What is the compelling reason that someone should want to work for you?”
Believe it or not, people want to work for companies (and leaders) that give a s**t about them.
Employee experience is more than just “culture”. More than just employee surveys.
It’s about setting the tone of the business from day one.
(Actually, great onboarding should actually start before the employee sets foot through the door).
These people help leaders to listen and act on what truly matters to their most important asset – their people. They bring values on paper to life and build culture authentically.
I’ve seen far too many people have poor onboarding experiences. Someone once said to me – “We are the kind of business that will just chew you up and spit you out if you can’t jump in”.
Eeeeeeek. I’m sure you can imagine the turnover rate.
That business didn’t need a ping pong table or a fridge full of beers – they needed someone in Employee Experience.
We want to hear from you!
