If you are the smartest person sitting around your boardroom table, you’re doing it wrong.

There is a business owner whom we strongly admire at Sprint, who once said, “If I’m not hiring people who are experts in their field, who know so much more than I do in their areas, then how is my business going to grow?”.

It’s a fair comment. We see many SME business owners who struggle to do this – with the comment being “I don’t want someone to take over” and we get it… your business is your baby. No one will love it like you do.

However, there comes a time when, if you’re seriously looking to scale, you have to be curious and get comfortable with letting go when needed and embracing the unknown.

Give your people space, accountability and a shared goal.

The best things happen when you build a team who elevate what you started.
