With no signs of slowing down, they are eagerly seeking a super skilled and laser-focus Payroll & Accounts Officer to manage their weekly payroll and accounts receivable for a wide range of projects.
  
The role…
  
Construction isn’t known for its ‘cruisy’ pace, so trust us when we say this it’s all systems go! It’s an exciting industry and you’ll never find yourself clock watching or in need of something to do!
  
You’ll be working in a supportive team under the guidance of a fantastic in-house accountant. They’re a great bunch and definitely have that close-knit feel.
  
The work you’ll be taking on ensures the smooth sailing of payroll and accounts payable for a multitude of projects – it’s an extremely important role to keep the wheels in motion each week…  

  • Reconcile a high volume of timesheets, for both staff and subcontractors, across various sites against approved hours on a weekly basis – attention to detail is key!
  • Process a large weekly payroll with around 100 staff – working with the Award/EBA and various pay rates and allowances
  • File and organise approved timesheets in the appropriate systems
  • Input all information from timesheets to generate and complete weekly invoicing to clients
  • Manage and reconcile all subcontractor bills for allocated sites, work with the accounts team to ensure everything is paid on time and nothing is missed
  • Follow up with suppliers on any missed invoices/work/discrepancies

What we need from you…
  
Sharp payroll skills, coupled with a fantastic customer-service mindset and positive attitude. You love working ‘in the detail’ and when a problem arises, you put on your detective hat to solve the mystery – nothing gets past you!
  
You have ‘speedy’ computer skills and have used accounting software in the past (Xero and/or Procore is ideal!). On top of that, you thrive working in an environment where everything can feel like it’s urgent – never a boring day around here!
  
Given the nature of the work, our client is seeking someone with an understanding of construction / plant hire to hit the ground running.
